First, make sure you have the sensor correctly installed on your Respimat inhaler. Unsure if it's installed correctly? Have a read of this article.
When using your Respimat inhaler as prescribed, the Propeller sensor will do all of the work to detect when you take a dose. In order for the Propeller sensor to work, it must be correctly installed. Please note that you do not need to remove the clear portion of your Respimat inhaler when installing the Propeller sensor. All you have to do is slide the clear part of the sensor over the clear part of the Respimat inhaler. Once you have correctly seated the sensor, twist the Respimat inhaler to prime the medicine and press the Respimat button to release the dose. After you have released the dose, the sensor will detect and record it as being taken.
Inhaler technique tips from our team clinicians: Turn the base in the direction of the arrows until you hear a click (a half turn). Then open the cap and breathe out fully, away from the inhaler. Breathe in slowly and deeply while pushing the dose button on the inhaler. Hold your breath for 10 seconds (or as long as is comfortable) and then breathe out slowly, away from the inhaler.
