The Propeller sensor uses Bluetooth™ wireless technology to communicate with your smartphone or tablet. Every few hours or so, the sensor checks in to let us know that it’s still working and sends any data it has to your smartphone on when your inhaler was used. If there’s not any data to send, it still checks in. Having this information allows us to say that you didn’t use your inhaler, which can be just as valuable as knowing that you did.
If you don’t want to keep Bluetooth™ wireless technology on all the time, open up the Propeller app every 2–3 days. Turn on Bluetooth™ wireless technology and press the small button on your sensor. You should see a message confirming we heard from your sensor and all of the data on your sensors will be sent to the app. Once that’s complete, you can turn Bluetooth™ wireless technology back off.
