The Propeller sensor uses Bluetooth to communicate with your smartphone or tablet. Every few hours or so, the sensor checks in to let us know that it’s still working and sends any data it has on when your inhaler was used to your smartphone. If there’s not any data to send, it still checks in. Having this information allows us to say that you didn’t use your inhaler, which can be just as valuable as knowing that you did.
If you don’t want to keep bluetooth on all the time, open up the Propeller app every 2-3 days. Turn on bluetooth and press the side button on your sensor. You should see a message confirming we heard from your sensor and all of the data on your sensors will be sent to the app. Once that’s complete, you can turn bluetooth back off.
